ANDRÉ NKOUAGA - Double bass
Born and raised in Cameroon, André was nurtured by the rhythms of his homeland: bikutsi, mangambeu, makossa, assiko, bensdkin, Pygmie rhythms. His style is at the cross rounds of be-bop and African rhythms. He participated in a jazz and African fusion project with Philippe Sellam, Gilles Rennes, Benoït Delbecq and Serge Adams.

After leaving Cameroon, he studied the double bass in Europe, and has lived and played
in Germany.

He teaches workshops in African Groove at the EDIM (jazz school).

Among the many musicians he has played with are: Jean-Jacques Goldman (blues concert in Africa), les Cent Voix (gospel), the Reggae Rockers group (Jamaica) , Bens Belinga, Ali Këta, Annie Anzouer, Christain Bourdon, Hervé Krief, Hans Lüdemann - German pianist). His style is in the crossroads of be bop and African rhythms.
